"...when the times of refreshing shall come from the Lord's presence". Acts 3:19

Thanks to all of your prayers and support...

Our 2004 Guatemala Mission was a BIG SUCCESS!

We arrived back on Friday, February 6th from Panama via Guatemala. This was one of the most productive trips in missions projects we have ever taken. The picture above is our main contact family, The Otzoys. They live in an area called Patzicia, located Northwest of Chimaltenango. Pastor Gregory and his wife Natty are the founders of the Church of the Messiah Ministries. They have 15 churches planted, the Train up a Child school, and are supporting Dr. Flora's Medical Clinics. Below there is more information on those clinics. Guatemala is one of the worst countries in the world with poverty and homeless children. Please continue to pray with us as we reach out to this ministry!

(Right) These men and women are last years graduates of Pastor Otzoys' Bible School. They are now pastors of the churches in the areas marked on the map(above). At the end of their studies, they went and held a crusade in their area. Then they took the new converts and started a church. Some of these already were pastoring churches during their schooling. Others just started these churches within the last year.

There are 245 students enrolled this year!

These precious children are students at the "Train Up A Child" School located in Patzicia just West of Chimaltenango Guatemala. The Christian based school was established by Pastor Gregorio Otzoy for children to be able to attend school with no money. Some of these children have no families! They were orphaned and homeless. This year we were able to purchase School supplies including notebooks, pencils, erasers, red, black and blue ink pens and rulers. We also bought each student and teacher personal gifts including candy, special snacks and daytime planners with nice pens for the teachers. Each class received a new soccer ball and a new basketball.

Pastor Gregory Otzoy

It all started when God called Pastor Gregory to build a church in Patzicia called "The Church Of The Messiah". Here he is teaching Pastors and Bible students in a Bible School located within the church. He now has about 14 other churches that have been established from crusades in surrounding areas. He trains these pastors weekly, teaching them discipleship so they can effectively teach their converts in their churches. The Otzoy family is also maintaining 3 major medical clinics where the sick, lame and afflicted can come for free treatment! (See article on this page below) All of this is funded by the Otzoy family and people like you and I who have great compassion for ministries like these.

HOW CAN I HELP?

Medical Clinics with Dr. Flora Otzoy

To the left is a picture of Dr. Flora Otzoy as she treats her patients in a little village in Tecpan Guatemala. These patients come in to the clinic every week for treatment and medication at no charge to them. This woman and her family were diagnosed, treated, taught the Word of God and prayed for by Shonda and I along with Dr. Flora.

The little girl you see on the right was diagnosed with Bronchial Pneumonia. She was consistantly and uncontrolably coughing with terrible sounds. She was treated with what little medication Sister Flora had on hand. We took the opportunity to lay hands on her and pray for her. Between the prayer and medicine, the child grew a little better. She still needed to go to the hospital so she was taken by Dr. Flora herself. This expense was paid for by Praise Ministries Int'l and the Otzoy's family. Her family had no money so without this treatment, she would have died! This was just another one of many cases we witnessed while there. WHAT A MINISTRY!

Sister Flora Otzoy has 3 different clinics running every week. One is in Tecpan, one is in Chimaltenango, and the other is inside the "Train Up A Child School" in Patzicia where she treats all of the children. This woman is absolutely incredible.
